Peridodic snapshot causes VMware vCenter alarm "File host-16-hb closed with dirty buffers. Possible data loss."

Hi all,

I've setup a periodic snapshot that takes a snapshot every 24hrs of a folder that contains a datastore for VMware containing VMs. I've setup the VMware-Snopsots for both ESXi that are using the datastore which is quite trivial. After that I have a replication task running to replicate the snapshots to a second freenas.

Unfortunately when freenas is creating the snapshot, the vCenter that manages the two ESXi that are being snapshot is sending this messages:

Code:
Target: 192.168.1.10
Stateless event alarm

Alarm Definition:
([Event alarm expression: Host error] OR [Event alarm expression: Host warning])

Event details:
Issue detected on 192.168.1.10 in HA-DC: BC: 3118: File host-16-hb closed with dirty buffers. Possible data loss.

Is there anything I'm doing wrong?

Regards,
Nik

Unfortunately not. Any idea how to solve this issue?

Does this still occur with U3? If so, you may want to report it at bugs.ixsystems.com.

Over a year later, I've tried it again, and the problem still occurs with the latest 11.3-U1 version. I'll raise a ticket.
