Hey Folks,

Does anyone know of a way to get the PC Speaker to do beepy stuff when a drive needs replacement? I have a scenario where external access is not possible, so things like E-Mail notifications will never, ever, happen. So I'm thinking an audible notification can bridge the gap to alert that a drive needs replacement, or something like that.

I couldn't find a thread touching on this particular concept. But I did see there may be some ways to do PC Speaker stuff, just I am unsure about having the beeps happen as a result of a PFA or drive actually failing, etc.

Thoughts? Should I open a feature request?

Typical PC speaker often can't be heard in typical noisy datacenter, that is why it is not wired. iXsystems TrueNAS products indicate alerts by changing front bezel colors.

Okay but I'm accounting for quiet environments where it's audible.
