Hi,

I am running the latest Cobia release and when I port-scan my server I get open ports for
111, 139, 445, 6000
139 is NetBIOS
445 is SMB (?)

but why are 111 and 6000 open?

I only run SMB and have no apps or containers installed.

Thanks!

TN doc doesn't mention them either

111 is Sun RPC, necessary among other things for NFS. Possibly they have the rpcd running whether NFS is actually used or not.

Ah right, thanks! Yeah, I have NFS turned off.

And I found this old thread on port 6000. Something to do with HA (which I also don't use). But the info is from 2019 on FreeNAS.
I don't route my storage so I can't block port 6000

It's the middleware listening on port 6000. You can confirm this with ss -tulpn, note the pid that's listening on port 6000, then ps aux | grep portnumber.
