I've even seen a PSU advertised as Haswell-ready because of the above :)

Yes. When Haswell first came out some PSUs at the time failed when Haswell went into deep idle. Haswell-ready PSUs are prepared for extreme low-current on the 12V rail during idle (<0.05A), and do not fail/fry/turn-off/go-outofspec when this occurs.

for how long can we expect that replacement motherboards
I'm considering buying an x9drl mobo in a store (brand new - old stock) and if it breaks down - replacing it with a second hand one.

This link redirected me to cj.dotomi.something page. Is is the affiliate code added to newegg links as mentioned in some primer or something went wrong?
I've started a new thread.
