Not able to complete bootup, how to recover?

My server seem to have crashed and now is stuck on bootup at the step of

Code:

Generating host.conf.
Warning: unrecognized source [mdns]

How can I recover from this? I believe the pool is fine and I'd like to avoid having to reinstall if it is at all possible.

I tried booting from the "Initial-install" snapshot and it comes up fine. Is there a way to access the problematic snapshot?
