TL;DR, what encoding does windows NFS client use?
I just set up NFS share for one of my dataset. I intend to use it mostly for Jail access so I'd like to retain Unix permission. Still I want to view it on Windows so I have the window NFS client with it mounted.
I had some files and folders rsynced over (from another SMB server). Windows NFS client shows "some invalid characters".
Listing from Freenas web shell, or ssh, it shows the correct characters. The original SMB server also shows correct Asian characters.
I also tried robocopying thru Windows, from the SMB to the FreeNAS NFS share, it would show ???? within shells.
So is it purely Windows NFS not using the correct encoding? Is this possible to fix?
