I am new to freenas. I am not able to get a list of available plugins. I tried all what I could find in this forum but no look. Here is my freenas info.

freenas ver: 9.2.1.9

Network configuration
hostname: freenas
Domain: local
IPv4 Default Gateway: 192.168.0.1 (my router)
Nameserver 1: 8.8.8.8
Nameserver 2: 8.8.4.4

I am able to ping the internet successfully e.g. google.com

My plugins repository url: http://download.freenas.org/plugins/9/x64/

Why are you installing an old out of support version of FreeNAS? I'm also guessing you have installed the x86 version as well since you have a limited plugins list.

Also please list your hardware as per the forum rules.

I just upgrade to a new computer and I was trying to re-purpose my 6+ years old computer as a NAS for home use. The computer doesn't meet the hardware requirements of 9.10 . Yes I have installed x86, it is the only version available on FreeNas that I think I can run on my old computer.

The hardware is:
  • motherboard make and model: ECS Iris8
  • CPU make and model: AMD Atholon 64-bit 2.3GHz dula core
  • RAM quantity: 3GB (maximum the chip-set can supports)
  • hard drives:
1 external USB drive, Western Digital 120GB running the freenas
1 external USB drive, Western Digital 500GB
1 internal drive Western Digigtal 250GB SATA II
1 internal drive Seagate 2 TB SATA III
  • network cards: builtin motherboard,

The minimum RAM requirement for 9.2.1.9 is still 8GB.

This is a recipe for fail all the way. I sincerely hope you don't have any valuable data on this system.

Jailer,

Thanks for the feedback. According to the freenas website 9.2.1.9 could be "Deployments on 32-bit hardware using UFS had lower hardware requirements of a 4GB boot device and 4GB of RAM". But after experimenting this past weekend I came to the same conclusion that I need better HW.

And no I don't have any data on the system as I was just experimenting :)

Ok that's good to hear. I know the system specs are listed as lower but I had issues in my testing on a less than optimal system when I first discovered FreeNAS.

Once you get FreeNAS running you'll be glad you didn't skimp on hardware.
