i downloaded the latest version of Free NAS iso, i burned it to a cd and then tried to install it but i get the error

No Boot device available
STATA 0: Installed
STATA 1: Installed
STATA 2: None
STATA 3: None

i am trying install freenas on a usb drive but it will run from an old Dell Inspiron 531. any sugesstions on how to fix this problem

With the tiny bit of info about your hardware you have given, my guess would be that you must boot
into your BIOS/UEFI and change the boot order, placing the install CD (your optical drive) at the first position
in the boot order. See the Forum Rules (in RED) at the top of the forum pages.

Ok, in order to help you, you need to first help me with the requested
information in the Forum Rules...
Please also include the steps you followed to burn the disk image.
The 9.3 manual may be of some help. Here's a direct link to the
section in question.

RAM 4GB

to burn the cd i downloaded the iso and then used roxio burner software

Which software did you use to unzip the iso download before burning it to the CD?

i have tried burning the iso to a cd and putting on a flash drive and get the same message

Since your hardware is older maybe you might try installing an older version
from this list. I don't think your present hardware will run the lastest stable version.
For the latest version (9.3) you will need to upgrade your hardware. Read this thread.
