Hi all!
I've been lurking around here for quite some time and finally decided to retire my old storage setup.
My story: started with just random disks and Snapraid for parity. Then mustered up the courage to try out btrfs Raid5. A few month later the horrible Raid5 bug was discovered, so I switched to a mergerfs and Snapraid setup. That setup is now at it's capacity limit, and since I really miss the flexibility of btrfs, I decided to invest in a completely new FreeNAS powered build.
I remember also looking into FreeNAS before switching to btrfs, but at that time I didn't want to invest that much money (new mainboard, error correcting RAM...). Now I figure, if I'm going down that road, I should just do it right.
I'll post my build here shortly..
