Hi,

My plex server is running on win10 x64, in mirrored raid (using storage spaces), Plex + Jacket+Sonarr+Radarr+Tautulli+Deluge installed, also auto extract and autodelete downloaded content in download folder

I would like some information if possible about moving from windows to FreeNAS,
is there any way to auto extract archived content ?
is there any way to copy files from FreeNas to a external HDD (by plug in the HDD in freenas) - what i found is most over network same with other NAS OS , i dont understand why is so hard to just plug in a external HDD in NAS and copy the file you need
is there any way to auto delete leftovers from downloaded content ?
any way to extract archived content upon download completion using qbittorrent
and how does the raid mirror work in FreeNAS is real time, snapshot ?
can i import plex+sonarr+radarr+tautulli settings from windows to FreeNAS ?

all his functions are already set up on my plex windows server, reason for changing to FreeNas is that look more light and more compact

Because NAS means Network Attached Storage. That is the opposite of direct attached storage, so the idea of directly attaching the storage is just against the concept of a NAS.

There is a way to do all this but the way it is configured is so different that it will take you a lot of time and effort to get it running, so if you already have it setup and working, why do you want to change it now? FreeNAS probably has greater requirements than the Windows system you are already running. Just because it has free in the name does not mean it will run properly on just any old hardware.

I think you are misunderstanding FreeNAS in this regard. It can do pretty much everything you're asking about (or, more accurately, Sonarr/Radarr/SAB/qbittorrent/etc. would do it), it can even copy data from direct-attached disks (the "Import Disk" feature does this), but it's going to take some setup to get there.

It's also worth noting that FreeNAS requires disks that are formatted to ZFS. So in other words, if you want to use the disks that are currently in your Windows server, you'd have to format (wipe) them at some point... in fact, I'm pretty sure the same could be said if you were switching to any other non-Windows operating system. Someone please correct me if I'm wrong but I'm pretty sure Storage Spaces is a strictly Windows only thing. If that's the case, a format / new disks are inevitable.
