Hi, need some suggestions how to configure my new server with Scale.
I'm looking at Scale because I need Docker and some VMs.
I have a DL380p gen8 with two 2650v2, 192 GB of RAM, 12 SAS disks (3.5 HP 3 TB DP SAS drives), P420i to put in HBA mode and a FLR534 with two 10gb (one used).
The boot drives are two sata m2 Intel drives on a pcie card with a sata controller.
MQTT, Plex, Home Assistant, zigbee2mqtt, surveillance (I'm thinking to Shinobi) are some of my needs and network storage as well.
Regarding the GPU, I have a GeForce 1050 ti but unsure using it. I prefer to store both 1080p and 4K files for Plex and my players are mainly Smart TVs. My cams output two streams (I setup one HD and one low quality) and they have builtin motion, line-crossing detections, etc. So I'm debating of a GPU is really useful.
SLOG device? Will be boost my VMs or is it better add a mirrored nvme (I have two Seagate xm1440 800 GB) for docker and vm storage?
One issue adding non HP cards is that fans ramp up quickly and so the noise.
Any suggestions?
