Hi,
Have on freenas for some time now, minimal say about a year.
I have currently 3 live environments running smoothly.
My last config (for the question is!!!
128GB DDR4@2666 ECC RAM.
Dual Xeon CPUS v3 with 40 threads. (intel mobo)
A Proper Rack-mount Chassis with a 12gbps back-pane with a SAS adapter with relevant cables and a 1200W TIT/PLAT PSU.
Running 8x4TB WD REDS.
Running 8x8TB Toshiba Enterprise drives.
Both are separate. Both in Z2.
I have been able to offload my 8x4TBs' in z2 to an external array duly double backed up.
ZFS needs 80% free to do its thing.
QUESTION.
Should I leave them as they are or if should reformat my 8x4TB and add it to my main 8x8TB@Z2!!!
will loss of data increase or can I do this.
I know BACKUP BACKUP BACKUP BACKUP BACKUP !!! NO substitutes.
Will adding the small volume be equally safe!!! being put together AND AND AND if kept apart???? THIS MY QUESTION/QUERY?????
