Hello,

This is my first time trying out FreeNas as it was recommended to me by a friend.

I am having some issues to connect to the webconsoll.

Error message i get in Chrome when trying to connect: ERR_CONNECTION_TIMED_OUT

Information about Server:

CPU: Intel Core i5-6500 Skylake
MOBO: ASUS Z170-P, Socket-1151
RAM: Crucial DDR4 2400MHz 8GB x 2
HDD: Seagate Ironwolf 3TB 3.5'' NAS HDD x3 & Seagate Skyhawk 3TB 3.5'' HDD x 3

Settings on server:

ipV4: 192.168.1.100
Gateway: 192.168.1.1

DNS: 8.8.8.8
8.8.4.4 (Google Public DNS)

The server says "The web user interface is at http://192.168.1.100"

Any help will be helpfull.

Is there anyway i can check the configuration of the network so i can check if everything is setup correct?

it has a static ip on the routers DHCP.

Server is responding to PINGS.

Version installed: FreeNAS-11.1-RELEASE.iso

Thanks
Broccoli_Go :)

Do you have the same problem with other browsers? Are you sure that 192.168.1.100 is uniquely allocated to FreeNAS?

My immediate guess is an IP address conflict. .100 is usually a DHCP address. Even if you're setting the address with your DHCP server, then the device that last received that IP may not have expired its lease. If you can, I would recommend statically setting the IP address on the FreeNAS server that is outside of the DHCP range on your router.

Same error in Chrome, Edge & Firefox.

Changed IP on server and on router. DNS is the same.

Is there a way i can acces the server via SSH or is there a way i can change server settings another way then the console it has now?

I am new to FreeNas but has experience in Linux / GNU.

Yes, you can access the server via SSH. http://doc.freenas.org/11/freenas.html

If you start pinging your FreeNAS server, and you disconnect the cable, does the ping stop? Has the web interface ever worked?

If it's a fresh install, I would try again. Perhaps something went wrong during the install. I would make sure you completely wipe your boot USB/SSD. Start with 11.1U1, and if you are still having issues, I would try 11.0U4.
