Hi,
I'm running a Truenas configuration with 2x 1TB HDDs mirrored.
Now I need to increase my storage size and for this reason I purchased another HDD of 2TB.

I don't understand what do I have to do to increase my storage.
Can I keep the current Mirrored configuration and add the new 2TB HDD as a separate drive?
Or can I use the 2x 1TB HDDs mirrored with the 2TB HDD?

Thank you

Neither. ZFS is not that flexible.

You either replace both 1TB with larger disks. Or add in another pair of disks. Well, you could backup everything and make the 3 disks into a RAID-Z1.

ZFS was not designed for every configuration of disks. So somethings like what you want are not possible.

Yes, it possible - but it something that you don't want if your 2TB HDD fails without redundancy.

1. Mirrored configuration and add the new 2TB HDD as a separate pool - If 2TB harddive fails, no redundancy for recovery, but mirror still works
2. 2x 1TB HDDs mirrored with the 2TB HDD into single pool - if 2TB harddrive fails, entire pool fails no recovery.

You need at least another 2TB HDD if you want proper setup.
