Hi all,

I am trying to get FreeNAS-8.2.0-RELEASE-p1-x64 up and running, but am having a few problems. I have found a lot of information about adding drives, but none so far that covers my problem. I have attached dmesg, gpart and camcontrol output for review. I have also included output from an "ls -l /dev", and that is where my confusion is. I see the Adaptec 2405 and all the disks in dmesg, but when I look in the /dev directory, I don't see the associated device files. I also find it odd in the camcontrol output, the 4 disks only have pass0-3.

so, my question is, How do I get these mounted and usable in FreeNas. If I boot into an Ubuntu live, all disks are recognized and mounted at boot and Gparted is the same.

Any help would be appreciated. the adaptec is configured a JBOD.

Thanks in advance...

Your best option is to junk the adaptec and purchase a multiport sata-board.

Hardware raid is a thing of the past

Having had a quick look at your attached files, the lsdev.txt shows your attached devices as pass0 to pass3.
/dev/pass0, /dev/pass1, /dev/pass2, /dev/pass3

Have you tried mounting your devices manually ?
