Hello,
I want to build a homeuse NAS with ESXi awith some low performance VM for 2-3 user. I read a lot the last weeks and here is my first post ;)
Here is what i have planned, based on a lot of your great posts:
-Fractal Node 804 case, but not shure about his.
-3x WB red 3TB for ZFS
-2x old HDD with 1TB mirror
-1/2 boot drive. Small SSD but don`t know witch to buy?
-Supermice X11SSL-F, or should is use the C236 board?
-IBM M1015 for crossflash and use for ESXi path-through
-CPU e3-1220 v5 or something smaller/cheaper
-Ram: 16GB ct16g4wfd824a, is there any cheaper and working one?
-PSU Seasonic G-450, should i select a smaller one?
-small Backup via Hetzer Storagebox or comlete Backup with crashplan

Is a SLOG recommend for ESXi with NFS sync write? (it is very expensive)

Is that ok or are you recommend something to change?

It seams to be the hardest part to get any working memory in short time for this board.
