I'm running FreeNAS 9.1.1. I recently installed the MiniDLNA plugin to see how well it would work with the Roku 3 in the living room (mostly okay; UI needs work). Last night I changed the plugin's media mount from a test folder to my actual music archive. However, this mount is read-write. I know minidlna isn't supposed to be writing anything anywhere, but I'd prefer to not give it the chance.

It looks like the 9.2.x version of FreeNAS has a checkbox option to specify a read-only mount point inside a plugin/jail. Is there a way to do this in 9.1.1 that won't cause horrible confusion?

Not that I know of. To be honest, you should be able to upgrade from 9.1.1 to 9.2.0 without any ill effects. In my experience 9.2.0 is higher quality than 9.1.1. Moving to 9.2.1.x is a different story however.

Updated to 9.2.0 last night. The media directory is now mounted read-only to the jail. Thanks!
