Searched around and couldn't find an answer.
At the office our home directories (and many other paths) are mounted via NFS.. however there are daily and weekly snapshots.. these are automatically mounted as /home/user/.snapshot/daily.0 /home/user/.snapshot/daily.1 ..... /weekly.1 lather, rinse, repeat.
Granted there we use NetApps, but at home I use FreeNas.... I'm guessing to replicate this is possible with a fair amount of scripting. I haven't been able to nail the guy down in one place long enough to see how this is being done yet with NetApps.
Has anyone done this or similar already with FreeNAS to get me started and to avoid trying to re-invent the wheel??
