Minidlna & mkv

Hey Guys,

I've just setup my first FreeNAS system and all seems to be working OK.

I'm trying to stream files to my Panasonic surround sound system but it doesn't want to play MKV files, has anyone been able to do this?

I know my Panasonic system will play MKV files as I've played them from a USB dongle without a problem.

Can anyone help me out?

I'm new to FreeNAS/Minidlna myself and trying to do the same. Also have a Panasonic surround sound system (BTT-290).

I think the problem you are having may be the limitations of the Panasonic. I know that the model I'm using cannot play MKV files via DLNA (see http://shop.panasonic.com/resources/content/UCM_STG_CNT_050918.pdf). It can play AVCHD files via DLNA.

I'm having problems seeing any files via DLNA (even music files).
