Migrating ZFS Mirror to Raid Z1

Hi Guys,

I have ZFS mirror setup on my freenas running with 2 x 3TB Hdds

I added another 3TB drive, can you advise on how to move my existing volume to RaidZ?

Read my noobie guide... you can't. The way you "move" your volume is destroy the current pool and create a new one that is RAIDZ1.

What about my current data?

Back it up and restore it.

Create a backup.
Destroy current pool.
Create a new pool with Raidz1
Copy data back to pool.


OR

You could add another 2 disks in mirror to create a Raid"10"-ish.
But still create a backup incase something goes wrong.
