Hello,

Apologizes if I missed this but after a bunch of searching I can't seem to find an answer to my question.
Originally I had setup my 2 systems natively with ZFS and Sanoid/Syncoid replication. Now I have moved over to TrueNAS I am looking to enable replication using the native functionality present in the web interface. Is there a way to inherit the existing replication work without re-sending all this data? Before asking I started a replication task and had checked "synchronize destination snapshots with source" as without it I could not start the task. Now it looks like all data on my destination backup dataset is gone and it's re-sending everything.

Hopefully I am missing something and don't need to re-seed all that data.

Thanks!

Going to answer my own question here as I figured it out. The answer is yes you can do this but you must ensure the naming format is identical so it picks up the chain and continues. Just wish I figured that out before breaking a 16TB dataset and having to re-replicate it over the wire :(.
