I'm doing RAM testing on my newly built FreeNAS box, and have a question.
The motherboard is a SuperMicro X10SL7-F with a G3258 CPU. I'm using the free version of memtest86 on a USB stick in one of the back panel USB ports. Initially, when I booted, I would get memtest86 v4.3.7, which is the fall back version if UEFI is not available. I booted several times, and always got v4.3.7.
After 6 successful passes, I terminated the RAM testing to have a look at BIOS settings. I adjusted the boot order to put "Removable" in the top slot, then rebooted. This time I got memtest86 v6.2.0.
I'm baffled why UEFI was not available initially, and now it is.
