I want to share my findings about struggling about passing through a Mellanox ConnectX EN to a proxmox vm. They are some second hand HP-branded ones.
I was lucky to have 2 of this NICs in my vhost. After first trying passthrough the one at PCI-address 61:00.1 FreeNAS-vm failed to boot. If someone needs I can post all of the error messages.
The second one is working like expected. There are no options selected/checked in Proxmox passthrough settings. Seems to be a Firmware Issue. FW Version: 2.9.1000 vs 2.9.1200
