Hi,

Currently in the Process of Specing/Building a NAS Box with Over 100TB of Raw Storage and currently looking at What the best OS would be.

I Use Freenas for my Home NAS/SAN Box and thinking of using it for this.

Was Wondering what is the Maximum Supported Memory of FREENAS with a 64 Bit CPU?

What is the Most Memory that has been Tested?

I saw builds on this forum with 196GB of ram. So it's doable. If I remeber correctly you cand find servers with 256-512gb ram.
Physical limitation of 64 bit addressing is 16 exabytes.

Yup. This here is probably The Hot Board if you needed to make a really high end NAS:

Oooooo SuperO has just bumped that from 768GB to 1.5TB of RAM! Wow. So looks like we'll be seeing 64GB LRDIMM's soon.

Thanks, for the Quick Replies, think we looking at using about 128GB on Day one and with the Option to Using up to 1 TB for Future Growth.
