I just install FreeNAS 11.1 on my server. Currently, I am having issues with my M1015 seeing any of the drives in my backplane. I have it crossflashed to IT mode, and a Debian Live CD can see the drives. Being new to FreeBSD, I have no idea what I am doing, and have tried everything I can do to diagnose it.

Specs:
CPU: Dual E5-2670
RAM: 32GB ECC
HBA: M1015 (Crossflashed to IT mode, 20.0.0.7 firmware)
Chassis: SuperMicro SC846-R900B
Backplane: BPN-SAS-846EL1
Motherboard: SuperMicro X9DR3-LN4F+

I have tried:
- Reinstalling FreeNAS
- Replugging the drives
- Changing the port the SAS cable is plugged into

The drives were in a ZFS array in an Ubuntu system before I migrated to FreeNAS.

You say the card can’t see the drives? Did you check the card bios or how did you determine that?

So the card can see the drives if I run Debian, just not FreeNAS (I should have specified that). I don't know if I configured something wrong, though I don't think I need to do extra configuration beyond cross-flashing the card?

The OS doesn’t determine if the card sees the drives.. so, do they show up in bios?

Turned out to be a hardware ID10T error. A cable somehow came loose from the backplane, so it sporadically saw the drives as the connection was made.
