can anybody help me eliminate theses errors?

they have been occurring for a number of months

Were do you see the word "error" ?

i think it's called the console ? - it shows up when i use ipmi to control remotely and it shows up at the bottom of the gui

Those aren't errors. Are you experiencing some other symptoms? For example, a computer can't connect to a share?

These are "STATUS" messages. Every line starts with the word "STATUS" and they are normal. This message occurs each time a connection is closed. So whatever is using a local IP address of 192.168.1.229 is connecting to the FreeNAS server via CIFS and doing something, then the connection terminates and it repeats. Note the time stamps as well, these are not a large grouping over a small period of time like 1 minute.

i think everything is okay with regard to sharing - i don't remember seeing these messages before (maybe it was after an update)
