loosing AFP share connections

FreeNas noob here. I am having issues keeping my Macbook Pro connected to AFP. I keep getting disconnected and reconnected .

What causes this?

Looking for a solution myself as this is happening to me in a test server I built for the office. Any sort of solution would be greatly appreciated.

I switched to NFS, never looked back. I get a disconnect maybe every couple of weeks.
