I am wondering if I would benefit from an upgrade to my current setup:
i5-3340s
dh67cf mobo
16gb ddr3 non-ecc ram
Dell H200 flashed to IT mode
I mainly use this system as a Plex server, but I do plan on adding zone minder and possibly other jails to this setup. I feel like my current setup is lacking for transcoding of 2 or 3 1080p streams and possible 4k content in the future. I was looking into upgrading to server grade components like listed in the hardware guide, but it is difficult to compare the system performance so I am not sure if any of the systems I was looking at would help. Possible system configs:
Supermicro X9SCM-F socket 1155
E3-1220 v2
16gb ddr3 ecc ram
Supermicro X10SLM+-F socket 1150
E3-1220 v3
16gb ddr3 ecc ram
Supermicro MBD-X10SRH-CF-O socket 2011-3
E5-1620 v3
16gb ddr3 ecc ram
Supermicro X11SSH-F socket 1151
E3-1220 v5
16gb ddr4 ecc ram
The first system would be cheapest obviously and I think it would be comparable to my current setup, let me know what your opinions are, thanks.
