Let me explain. Jira has always been irritatingly slow and for possibly the last 6 plus years I have never received an email. I have always had to check to see if any updates to my bugs occurred. I have on atleast three occasions tried to confirm find and or change my email and could never find the setting. So I gave up, I just report a bug and forget about it.

Now this week I get 5 updates on my last 5 bugs via email? Yes email. Has Jira email been broken for years and now they fixed it?
Of those 5 bugs I cannot access two, I use noScript but on allowing all the page does not work and noScript cannot set the permissions. A bug?
The other 3 I can access without issue.
I tried to log in to Jira using the same address I have always used and on trying to log in it asks for my email address (not username as before) It is also now something called Altassian so on entering my email it then wants to send me a confirmation email for creating an account. I don't want an account. I want to log in and respond the bugs.

Why does IX use Jira when I get the impression form others complaints and my own experience that it is a crappy system.

I just tried using the tab 'Report a Bug, from the forum which opens up the Default Dashboard, the link from there Freenas/Truenass http://https//ixsystems.atlassian.net/jira/software/c/projects/TN/issues/ is broken.

I don't get.

They moved their Jira to new accommodation roughly a week ago. Maybe that sorted some issues with email notifications?

I also got that confirmation thing when logging into the new system for the first time but could quickly conclude that it didn't really make a new account. My previous account info was still there. As long as you use the same email adress you will simply be resuscitating the migrated account.

Yes, the url you copypasted is incorrect.
The correct one is: https://ixsystems.atlassian.net/jira/software/c/projects/NAS/issues

Ok, so I've gone from trying to use an old broken system to using a new broken system. LOL!

Thanks for the info.

That's supposed to be fixed now, though the answer seems to be throwing resources at the problem and keeping latency down by having distributed endpoints.

It's very popular, supports all sorts of arcane management bits and pieces, can be integrated with other stuff, etc. I have no strong opinions either way, but it's not a choice that was made contrary to popular opinion.
