Hi all
I setup a large 3.7TB iscsi drive as a 'backup' for all my games on my main pool - Raid Z1
The real backup is on an external hard drive.
I have installed an SSD for VMs also.
Windows 10, a small linux and ubuntu server as a lancache. - use http://lancache.net/
No redundancy on that one- just a single pool for VMs.
They are not critical so are not especially concerned about them.
All important data has redundancy.

Windows 10 updates my games overnight downloading through the lancache VM.
I setup the ISCSI device with no compression initially so it takes up the whole 3.7TB.
My games are now copied over to it. My concern was it would be very slow copying if compression was enabled.
Compression is now enabled for the iscsi device - lz4.

My question is:

As time goes on and data is gradually updated on the iscsi drive, will it gradually take less and less room in the pool, assuming the data copied/replaced is compressable?
