Is NATD compiled in the kernel?

Hello,
I would like to use NAT between two LAN interfaces in the last version of FreeNAS.

Since IPFW is not compiled in the default kernel, I was wondering is NATD compiled and can I use it?
I am asking this, since in fbsd documentation http://www.freebsd.org/doc/en/books/handbook/network-natd.html both ipfw and natd are loaded, and I am left with the impression that are both needed.

natd(8) is in FreeNAS, but ipfw is not. This is not the purpose of a NAS.
