BUILD Is my hardware choice OK?

Good Day ,

My server that I am building now is

- Intel Core2 Quad CPU Q9550 @2.83 GHz
- Gigabyte EP45T-UD3LR onboard 6xSATA with RAID
- 16 GB DDR3 memory
- 5x 3 TB WD RED HDD
- 1x 128 SSD Samsung
- Dual Int Gig Network Card extra along with the mother board Gig inter

What RAID should I use?And Why?
which FreeNas Ver should I install ?
Do you See if there is any thing still missing???

I'd ditch the SSD and buy another 3Tb drive. Configure the array for RAIDZ2. With the larger drive capacities, it provides extra protection against another drive failure, during the resilvering process (if you had to replace a drive).

It looks like 16Gb is the maximum amount of RAM that motherboard will accept. Consider one that will take 32Gb, even if you only populate it with 16Gb now. ZFS likes RAM.

Install the latest (production, not beta) 64-bit version.
