I had my FreeNAS box set up to use DHCP and my router was configured to assign it a static/reserved IP.

The other day I switched ISPs and routers, and forgot about this configuration. When I reset the FreeNAS box, it changed IP addresses and is working for the most part but all of my jails are gone.

Can I set FreeNAS to use a static IP to change it back to the former IP? Will this fix my jail issue or is that unrelated?

Unfortunately setting up my new router to assign it a static IP is proving difficult...

You can change your jail IP addresses at will. Also you should change your FreeNAS from DHCP to a Static IP in my opinion. Maybe you should visit the User Manual.

Thanks. So it turns it I had two unrelated errors..

I read the user manual to setup the IP during the initial setup, but missed that I could relaunch that screen from a remote terminal by launch /etc/netcli.

The Jails issue was totally unrelated.. the drive become unmounted on restart.
