Introduction

Hey all,

I'm a front-end developer looking to make a foray into building my own NAS server. Right now, I'm about to throw it out the window, so I'm hoping that I can find some help in getting this thing running.

My current build is:

Super Micro X8DTL-iF Mobo
2 X Xeon E5620
16 GB Ram
750W EVGA SuperNOVA PS
Cooler Master HAF XB EVO Case
1 16GB SSD (for OS)
1 x 4TB Ironwolf NAS drive (2 more on the way)

I have FreeNAS installed and running, however I have had numerous issues trying to get some of the features to work. I haven't thrown in the towel yet however.

Welcome to the forums. Thanks for reading the rules and posting your hardware specs.

Close the window, take a deep breath or two, and consider how to succinctly write up your "numerous issues" so that the community here can help you with them.

Also, "Search" is your friend here - through the header listing or the box in the top right hand corner. Lots of very detailed threads.
