Hi,

I am trying to install the BitTorrent client as said above.

When I follow this url I immediately have a problem by the BitTorrent client part.

When I say : su ; it gives me the su : sorry message
When I try su 'accountname' it's OK.
When I say mount -uw / : it gives me: mount: /dev/ufs/Freenas1a: Operation not permitted.

Well.. what to do next?

Kind regards,

That's horrible way of setting it up. Don't do it.
Use the plugins page on the web GUI, that's what it's for.

How you are doing it now is not recommended and also will not survive image upgrades.

Yes, it will configure the jails process and install the transmission client for you pretty much with minimal user intervention plus it WILL survive through FreeNAS OS upgrades. Make sure you are using FreeNAS version 9.1.1

Do you have an existing volume on your hard drives? I think the plugin will automatically create the jail dataset for you if you already have an existing volume. You should not have to create a new volume on any USB things.

No I don't.. I have one hard drive and one volume on that hard drive. This volume is as big as the total hard drive.
Can I shrimp this one so some space can be used for a new volume?

Yeah, you can certainly use that one hard drive for it. When the plugins process is finished, you will notice a new dataset (probably something called /mnt/jails) in the storage tab on the web GUI.

Yeah, but the hard drive is using UFS at the moment. When I try to install the BitTorrent plugin it keeps saying create new volume..
So I have created a ZFS volume.

Something I noticed is that I've got another submenu under Storage.
See added (Dutch) attachment. I can't add a standard ZFS volume.

That's strange.
I'm guessing /mnt/Torrents is the new submenu?
What is listed under Jails -> Configuration -> Jail Root ?

I usually do /mnt/pool/torrentsfolder/ (freenas local) >>>> /tmp (transmission jail) point transmission at jail.. and make sure tmp and torrentsfolder have proper perms etc..
