Installation Problem

Hi to all
I have this problem: when I get to the Main Installation Menu, and I press the button "Install/Update", for a moment, and then looks for something to happen, however, return back to the main screen.
It loop ever...

There is a Video for that problem. Anyway sorry for my bad english ;)

Ah, of Course
I'use last stable version of FreeNas (32bit) in a IBM x345 Server.


How can I solve this problem?

Hi,

Try to burn another CD or with a different version ex: Freenas 9.2.1.3.

See if it helps!

Follow the forum rules and tell us your hardware specs. Do you have sufficient RAM?

IBM X345

2 x CPU Intel Xeon 2.80 Ghz
5 GByte RAM
2 x 36GB @ 10k SCSI Disk (RAID 1 LOON)
3 x 146 GB @ 10k SCSI disk (RAID 5 LOON)
1 SCSI Controller ibm 6k
1 SCSI Controller Adaptec (FOR SCSI External SAN)

That would explain a lot right there...


Adaptec isn't a good choice for FreeNAS and neither is using hardware RAID with ZFS. I'm assuming that with your quantity of RAM you plan to use UFS. Well, UFS support in FreeNAS is being removed in the next release, so I'd strongly recommend you go back to the drawing board and decide to either upgrade your hardware to support ZFS or plan to use a different OS.

The reason the installer is returning to the menu is because it scans for disks to install to, finds none, so returns to the main menu.
