Hi

I am new to Truenas and new to the forum. I am currently building a NAS server. It is my intension to use it to store an increasing collection of movies that are currently contained in a USB conected external hard drive.

The hard drive is formatted to a Mac OS Extended file system. It is currently used to stream movies via PLEX installed on a Mac. As soon as the movies have been imported I will format the disc and install it beside an identical hard drive in the NAS.

I'm not at all clear if my NAS, when completed, will recognise the external USB drive and I would like to know the best (easiest) way of importing those movie files to the NAS.

Sorry if this is a dumb question, but I think I need some advice.

Thanks.

You will have to build your NAS and copy the files over the network using a Mac. TrueNAS cannot read HFS+.
