This is my first post on this community, My name is Giovanni and live in italy.
I have a question about IBM x3400 with Serveraid 8k; in the old posts found on this forum, i had found partially an answer to my question..
The server is a x5420 with 16GB ram and a Gbit ethernet controller. The 4 HDD are 2TB SATA 7200 RPM. I will use this nas for storing the datastore of ESXi with max 4 VM (with low HDD usage). I need some suggestion:
1) it's preferable buy a m1015 controller and remove the 8k ? It's support disk fault notification and smart features ?
2) It's necessary to buy a 4 ports GB ethernet + switch that supports LACP for best network performance?
