Hi I have an Dl380, It has 2 Xeon 5130's, 16gb of ecc ram and P200 Controller. Every time I try to install on a flashdrive (16gb kingston) from another USB it does install but after it tells me to remove the install media and reboot, freenas gets stuck in a bootloop, I know it gets past network identification but thats it. Help????

Well, next time post only once. If it's not the right section, it'll be moved, which is much easier than going around and deleting several threads.

I recommend you provide screenshots of where the system reboots.

Also, ensure you don't have any watchdogs enabled in BIOS.

1st question that comes to mind: P200. Does it need to be flashed to IT mode? Have you done that?

What is IT mode? and even if it did, I am installing freenas on a flash drive so how would that have anything to do with it?

If you are planning to use that server with FreeNAS and it does use a hardware raid controller, there is no point continue troubleshooting the issue. FreeNAS uses ZFS https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/ZFS and will be pointless using if your controller is not/won't support/be compatible with your server/etc in IT mode.

Download the pdf from https://forums.freenas.org/index.php?resources/hardware-recommendations-guide.12/ and check the session about controllers. You will also see several recommendations about other hardware.

I have used ZFS in Nas4free and it has worked fine, Freenas will not even boot. I have not configured drives or anything. It will not boot off the usb

Don't know if it helps, but on my 380 I install from USB media in the front USB port, and install to the rear external USB ports, which it will then boot from after installation. They are all detected on when booting up the FreeNAS installer.
