I'm a millwright working for a custom metal machine / fab shop.
I'm responsible for all my duties as a millwright and I'm the tech guy as well.
I'm going to be ditching our clearOS server / firewall for a 2 system setup
PFSense, and FreeNAS
The reason I'm doing this is because the CIFS performance is terrible.
I am looking at getting the IXSystems FreeNAS Mini Plus. I'll need to talk to them about CIFS performance on that system first though. Maybe some of you have some advice.
The cifs share has 230,000 files and is 145Gb in size.
These files are browsed, opened and modified constantly and the current setup is really laggy and giving me a great deal of headaches.
