So I have been trying recently to update/upgrade my Plex to the new version, and I cant really understand the plugin/jails concept (..i think)
I have installed my Plex Server via the Plugins category on TrueNAS, then linked it to a Jails server (?)
Trying to stop the plugin+jail and upgrade didn't work for me so I tried doing the following:
I entered my Plex jail via the Shell, I use pkg update && pkg upgrade, and my Plex doesn't get updated. I went on following the manual way to install using this tutorial: https://digimoot.wordpress.com/2020/10/05/truenas-update-plex-server/
and hurray ~ now I have the new version.
But whenever I apply general updates for my plex server using pkg update && pkg upgrade, it installs the old version.
is there a way to make my plex fetch the proper install in a non-manual way, that the system itself recognize it and installs it? (I am aware of the CRON JOB option. but is there a "proper" way? "headache-less" way? )
