Hi there,

I've got a ProLiant server with 2x2TB (mirrored) and 2x4TB (mirrored) disks.
The harddisks are getting full so I bought another two harddisks, 2x4TB.
I currently have the new harddisks in an older Synology DS212, but they are empty.

I'm now thinking about the best way to replace the 2x2TB disks with the 2x4TB disks.
I'm unsure how I should copy the data, can anyone maybe give me a hint? I guess the Synology
cannot read ZFS/Freenas pools.

Thank you,
Christoph

You don't even need to change slots. ZFS doesn't care where the disk is physically located as long as it has direct access to it.

I only have 4 slots, so I will temporarily put the new disk on a spare cable, once the old one is replaced by freenas I will put the new one in the slot of the old one (and I guess it will get the sata ID of the old one?).
