I think the "Lock user" is to prevent someone from logging in using ssh, not for blocking access to shares. I don't think there exists an easy way to stop a single user from accessing a share.

Why are you trying to temporarily stop a user for accessing a share?

Maybe you could just add their IP address to 'Hosts Deny" for the CIFS service temporarily?

Sometimes I must copy a big files to/from NAS and in this case I want to stop accessing shares for some users and give full "power" of LAN and full speed for NAS only for Administrators. According to manual for FreeNAS - option "Lock User" mast lock some user to prevent accessing NAS (not only ssh) but this function not working for me... Checkbox not saved... May be... bug?
