How to disable default router in Jail ?

I've created a new jail, but I want to disable the default router in it. I want the default route to be blank so that it can be set by OpenVPN when that starts.

I started by clearing the IPv4 default gateway in my Jail config and then stopping and starting the jail again. That still used the default route.

I've also tried adding the following to /etc/rc.conf, but after a stop and start, the default route is still there

defaultrouter="NO"

While I haven't tested this myself, you may want to try set this in the tunables UI. I was trying to disable IPMI and similarly edited rc.conf, as you noticed that files appears to be re-created when the system is booted and changes are not maintained. I still have not been able to get IPMI turned off, but perhaps you may have better luck?
