Hi All,
I'm new to this forum and setting up NAS. I tried to install the latest version of Free NAS and got this error. I tried to enter number 1 to try doing it manually but it will not do it. It just says select a interface or quit. any suggestions.

After I type 1 and it does nothing i type quit and it then gives me this error.

Well, that means your network card(s) installed in that machine aren't compatible with FreeNAS.

Can you post your hardware specs please?

Hint: If your motherboard comes with a Realtek or Atheros NIC, you are sunk.

Thanks for the help. Yup it says Atheros. asrock H87m-itx. Just bought it yesterday. I guess I missed the compatibility spec on that!

I can buy a Ethernet card to install? or maybe still exchange the mother board. Any suggestions on a mother board or Ethernet card I can add? I have Intel Core i3 processor. i3-4340 LGA 1150. I need a ITX size motherboard to fit in my case. Thanks

Give our stickies a read.. that hardware isn't even remotely recommended. non-ECC RAM, etc etc etc.

You should figure out what you want to do and make your choice while you can still do the exchange.
