For some reason, my usb stick with freenas on it stopped booting. I have reinstalled freenas on a new usb. My old freenas install had a raid5 volume setup. How can I re-use this raid5 volume on the fresh install?

Also, is it possible to copy the contents of the freenas install from a usb onto either a computer running windows or a freebsd livecd?

Cheers

What version of FreeNAS are you using? To my knowledge, FreeNAS 8.x doesn't have software RAID5. Are you talking about a hardware RAID5?

If you're using FreeNAS 8.x (as opposed to FreeNAS 0.7*, which became NAS4Free), you can save your config using a web browser from your Windows machine.

Thanks for your reply, Stephens. I sorted out the problem, I used the "auto-import volume" feature on the new installation. I couldn't find it before but now its all working sweet :)
