Hello everybody!
I'm Italian and i work as a Linux system administrator in Rome.
I'm approaching to the FreeNAS community as i'm about to start using FN as my home NAS distribution.
Right now i'm using an HP Microserver (N40L) with 5 HDDs (1x500GB OS, 2x1TB and 2x2TB as storage) managed using mdadm raid1 and LVM2.
In the past i've used the same hardware with VMWare ESXi running a OpenSolaris VM and RDM to access the 4 disks.; i've then learned that this isn't a good approach but i've been lucky enough to never have problems.
Now i'm going to upgrade the Microserver and put FreeBSD on it.
