Greetings,
Recently, I received the following critical alert from my server:
Device: /dev/ada0, Self-Test Log error count increased from 0 to 1
I have four drives (all Western Digital Red 4TB drives) in a RAIDZ1 pool. I've been running this server about a year now. Is this something that I need to be concerned about? If so, what do I need to do about it? Replace the drive? Does this mean the drive is failing? I would've expected more than one year's life from it.
In case anyone's interested, I'm running FreeNAS 9.3 and my hardware is a Dell PowerEdge T110 II tower server. I have 16 GB of ECC RAM.
Regards,
Geoffrey
