Hello,

I'm french, sorry for my poor english :(

I just added one volume then copy entire data from one to this new one.

I used putty and type :
cp -r - v /mnt/Vol1/"Dataset" /mnt/Vol2/"Dataset"

It goes to transfer about 5 TB.

It goes well during few hour.
Then, in the morning, Putty stopped/freezing.
GUI access impossible.
Network connexion OK, ping OK.

I plugged a keyboard and screen nothing else than normal screen and a freezed cursor.

Could you help me to know what happened and how to solved this whithout hard reboot to avoid any disk crashed or something else.

Try using nohup before your command. I would also use rsync as the copy command as most of the data may have already been transferred. Nohup creates a pseudo batch job so if the terminal session dies, the command keeps running
