Joining an Active Directory Domain with FN/TN is pretty straight forward if using modern versions, but what is the purpose/usecase of the field "Domain" under Network/Global Configuration?
If joining an AD Domain this stayes labled "local" and the HostName the machine gets is "name_you_choose.local", still after a AD Domain join. If changing the field "Domain" to the AD Domain name the machine gets the new name "name_you_choose.AD_Domain_Name" but the periferals using the NAS gets disconnected, at least non Windows stuff.
Can anyone shed some light over how to use that field and its purposes?
